ONE GLOBE, ONE OCEAN
The Vendée Globe is a single handed, non-assisted, nonstop, round the world yacht race. A race that is much respected and considered as « the Everest of the seas ». The Vendée Globe rules challenge the abilities of these extraordinary skippers whose only desire is to surpass themselves. This popular event takes place every 4 years and appeals to young and old alike. The 10th edition of the Vendée Globe will set sail from Les Sables d'Olonne on Sunday 10th November 2024.
The Vendée Globe aims to use the media impact of the event to raise public awareness of ocean conservation throughout the round-the-world race. By sailing around the world, the Vendée Globe sailors are highlighting the fragility of our oceans faced with global warming. They are direct witnesses to the changes underway, particularly around Antarctica, a region that is under particular threat.
